My Blogging Experience – Discovering the Online Wealth Part 1

What is your experience in Blogging?

I hope you have not started like me. Having no knowledge about the virtual business, I ventured to find a share of the treasure which has made so many millionaires.

Blogging was a term totally new to me when I first started on the internet. My online career started with network marketing. Being a total newbie to network marketing, at that time, my upline told me that I should open up an account at free blogging site Blogger.com and promote my business. And that is what I did. Having no clue how to generate traffic or audience to my first page. I hardly got any instructions on how to build a blog page or how to post articles.

Yet with trial and error, I managed to get in my first post and anxiously waited for visitors to turn up. Well, to my disappointment  I had been waiting and waiting and waiting.

So why on earth wasn’t I getting and traffic to my site?

What was never told to me was that I had to frequently update my blog. Although Google likes Blogger.com, you need to post articles regularly, that what makes Google page crawlers look for interesting stuff in your articles. As I told you I was a total newbie to the internet, all I knew was type something on the Google search box and VOILA the answer was there for me.

Terms like keywords, page rankings, search engine optimisation etc. were things like someone was talking to me in “Martian” language. My response Yeah! Yeah! I have heard about it. But honestly haven’t had a clue what it was. Neither was I courageous to ask someone what was it all about.

So those days have been quite painful for me struggling to make that 1st appearance on the internet.

I was disappointed, still looking for answers to my questions but no where to find it. Finally, my blog went to as “sleeping mode” like a dormant volcano for about six months.

I started surfing more on the internet and came across those wonderful websites (blogs) “that is what I thought they were at that time”. These blogs had a www.Mynamedomain.com on it. That is the guys were branding themselves. I kept asking myself. How are they doing it? Why is mine tagged to a name.blogspot.com and why can’t I have one like them.

Yeah, I am sure you are laughing at me and making fun of me but honestly, I hadn’t a clue. I was mad and furious still trying to figure out how actually it works.

The saddest thing is that I was a computer programmer about 15 years back but never surfed on the internet. Internet has been very recent to me say about 3 to 4 years ago. Yeah, of course I knew how emails worked and something called internet was there but I was too much pre-occupied with the real world to get actually involved with the virtual world.

Ok, I shall end part 1 here and give you something to cheer you up.

TIPS FOR THE DAY.

You have two ways of creating blogs either free or hosted (paid) blogs.

1. The good sites  (free) that I have used so far are

a) Blogger.com

b) WordPress.com

I found blogger.com more handy in terms usability of the structure. I still have about 4 of them and I use them to bring traffic to this blog. It easy to add different affiliate programs to earn money.    You can easily add Adsense program. It is very Google friendly.

My advice: don’t create just one post and subscribe to Adsense, Google will straight away refuse it. You need to have “keyword based” articles in order for Google to be able to place ads in your posts. I will be talking about this in the coming article posts.

2. Let us talk about Keywords.

To get good search engine ranking, you need to have good keywords in your article headline and also in the articles itself

There are various methods of analysing highly targeted keywords. You will never find one best way to do it. Every marketer has his/her own techniques. One simple technique for keyword search is googles https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal#

Type in the word you would like to find. Say for example Dog Training. The tool will give you plenty of keywords based on that search criteria.

The key thing here is to go for keywords that have volumes more than 500 and above but don’t go for high volume keywords as they would be hard to rank for in the search engines

Now copy/paste each keyword in the google search bar and place “” around the word say for example you are looking for Dog Training Tips what you would do is “Dog Training Tips”. This will give you the number of people that are competing for that keyword (people like you and me for earning money).

If the number is less than 100,000 then it is a very good keyword to use. Depending on the keyword rarity I sometimes go up to 200,000.

I will be talking more about all these. Did not want to bore you all at one go. The poisonous dose is going to be slow and painful.

So until next time my friends. By the way, if you liked my article you may want to post a comment and tweet it to your followers.

The Basics of Affiliate Marketing

Definition of Affiliate Marketing : according to Wikipedia

“Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts. It is an application of crowd sourcing. Examples include rewards sites, where users are rewarded with cash or gifts, for the completion of an offer, and the referral of others to the site.”

In simple jargon, you promote a product to a customer that is offered by a merchant and if the customer buys the product through you then the merchant will pay you a commission.

There are 3 major role players in Affiliate Marketing

1. An advertiser or merchant is the company who is selling a product or service.

2. An affiliate, sometimes referred to as a publisher or partner, is another person or company who assists in the promotion of the product and earns a commission for doing so. (That could be you!)

3. The Service Provider, then you have a management company in between the merchant and the affiliate who links the two together. An example of Management Company is ClickBank and PayDotCom.  The management company allows the merchants to place their products in the market place and publishers join the management company to promote the merchant products.

In other words, the management company partners the merchants with the affiliates and keeps track of the sales and commissions.

The advantage for an affiliate is that after joining the merchant company it can choose products from variety of categories and promote them to earn a commission.

Promoting a product as an affiliate can be as easy, as it can be very difficult. You need to choose the right product or your affiliate marketing campaign can be a disaster. Many have failed in this venture due to the lack of knowledge required to promote as an Affiliate. There are tons of training on the internet. It is important to follow some before venturing online as an Affiliate. Some Super Affiliates will provide  you with excellent training and at a very low cost.

The tendency of a newbie is to promote the first product that comes out in the market place rather than selecting a product based on customer requirements or based on what your skills or passion is about.

It is important to know your product because to attract visitors to your promotions your campaigns need to be very attractive. The critical thing is to know how to promote your product.

In experienced affiliate marketers have chosen the wrong path and have failed over and over again, sometimes going through investments in creating websites to promoting a product and after a few months have abandoned the product and website.

Before you start your venture on the internet or online business, you have to decide what you are good at, or what do you like the most or where are your skills best placed.

Choosing the wrong product which is none of the above mentioned criteria will lead to a sure failure.

Once you have found what you are good at, you then must go for the product that best suits your quality/ability/skills/passion.

I hope this article has been helpful in understanding. Please leave a comment if you liked it and come back as I will be posting more…

Wishing you success on the internet.

Using Private Label Rights To Take Your Affiliate Marketing To The Next Level

Private label rights has been a hot topic over the last several years and for a good reason.

When you get private label rights to a product, you can take that product and turn it into your own content or your own product.

Imagine all the time you will save NOT having to create all the content…

As affiliate marketers though sometimes we are overlooked on the private label rights front, so today I wanted to dedicate this post to helping you learn how to use private label rights content to explode your affiliate marketing…

First off…

Affiliate marketing should always start with building a list in your chosen niche. This is key…

    So here’s the plan step-by-step…

    Is Email Marketing Profitable?

The answer to this question can be very simple and also it can be very complicated for a person who is just starting their online business. Many of us have difficulties in building a list and developing a fruitful relationship with the subscribers. If these two are not performed then, there is a gap in the system and email marketing will not be effective.

Before we go in depth, we may want to look at the fundamentals of email marketing.

In order to make email marketing effective, first of all we need to have subscribers and when I mean by subscribers, it has to be reasonably a big list. Because a conversion rate, although it may vary, could be 1 buyer out of a 100 or a 1000 subscribers. The conversion rate also depends on the value perceived by your subscribers about yourself and your product. By that, I mean to say, how convincing have you been to your subscribers. How much do they trust you to get them influenced to buy your product.

Yes, there is also the selection of niche product to sell to your subscribers. A good highly targeted niche product would sell quite well.

If we read again the above statements, there is a chain of actions to be performed before you can get to promote your product to your subscribers.

First, you need to get a list of subscribers. This is one of the most important part of the chain, as no list equals no profits. To get a list, you have to build an attractive, appealing squeeze page to attract people to opt-in to your mailing list. This can be done by giving something valuable to the person.

Second, after you have built a list, you need to build a relationship by giving them valuable content. This will increase their confidence towards you. This is your first step towards email marketing. By adding value, you will also be able to study their needs.

Third, now that you are building trust, you would want to also earn money through your subscribers. Understanding your subscribers’ needs is very important. Imagine, people have opted in to your mailing list for networking marketing and your are trying to sell them dog food. You will never convert those emails to sales.

Fourth, finding the right niche products tailored to your subscribers needs. There are tons of products out there but understanding the selection criteria and the ones that convert is vital. You can go to places like Clickbank. It is the best place to find your exact niche product. Some of these products also provide marketing tools like emails and Lead capture page.

Many of us fail in email marketing because we don’t emphasize enough on building a highly targeted list. Second, as soon as we start building a list, we are excited to promote to them the very instance they opted in to the mailing list. Nobody likes to be bombarded with promotions. They will never read your emails. Give them value and then attract them to your products.

For any business to be profitable, we need to build trust and confidence with our audience and email marketing follows the same concept. So my friends add value to your list, help them like you and you will see that everything else will follow smoothly.

Until next time. Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2010.
